Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy Institute of Technology & Science (MeRITS) was established in the Academic year 2002-2003 with a single - minded aim to provide a perfect platform to students in the field of Engineering for their academic and overall personality development.

The College will endeavor to achieve academic excellence & overall personal growth of students by providing excellent academic environment with the help of dedicated, highly qualified and experienced faculty members.

Academics Overview

The college lays stress on assignments, practical training, personality development, sports and co-curricular activities to explore potential and ensure self discipline in students with interaction through counseling and various committees. Interaction with students and their involvement in college activities, suggestion boxes, student mentors.

Parents will be informed about the performance of their ward from time to time in the semester/year. However parents are requested to be in touch with the Student mentor/Department Head on a regular basis.


1. Attendance 
Students have to put up a minimum attendance of 75% (as per JNTU) in aggregate to be eligible to write the external examinations conducted by JNTU.

2. Internal Examination
Internal Examination consists of online (Computer Based) objective type tests for theory subjects. For a practical subject, 25 Marks will be awarded internally, of which 15 marks shall be awarded for day-to-day work and 10 marks will be awarded by conducting internal tests.


3. University Examination 
Each theory examination will be descriptive and conducted at the end of semester/year. Each question paper will have 8 questions out of which the student has to attempt 5 questions. Each question carries 16 marks. Practical end exam will be conducted for 50 marks with External Evaluation.

A team of dynamic, dedicated, experienced and well qualified teaching faculty of the cadre of Professors, Assistant Professors & Senior faculty with research experience promote education at the institution. Members of the faculty with proven track record, commitment and practical experience are only chosen by the selection committee.
