The college was established in the year 2004 by Krishna Theja Educational Society under the aegis of Dr. Chadalawada Sucharitha, arenowned educationalist and Philanthropist with the Noble objective ofpromoting quality technical education. The college is located in the picturesque environment, 5 km away from the holy city of Tirupati on
Tirupati to Chennai Highway. The college is equipped with excellent infrastructure, state of art computer centre, library, and with an exclusive research centre. The College is a ISO 9001-2008 certified one.Presently the intake of CREC in the undergraduate level is 420 i.e Computer Science – 120, Information Technology – 60, Electronics & Communication Engineering.– 120, Electrical & Electronics Engineering – 60 and Mechanical Engineering – 60, in the Post graduation level MCA-60, MBA-60 and M.Tech-54 (CSE-18, CAD/ CAM-18, VLSI Design -18).

The College is equipped with Microsoft I-Spark Centre. Microsoft Technologies has signed MOU with our college. We are proud to say that Microsoft has signed this MOU only with less than 10 organizations in India and ours is one among them. CREC is an IUCEE (Indo US Collaboration for Engineering Education) consortium college. In collaboration with IUCEE we have conducted International level workshops for the faculty. In the year 2010, a 5 - day workshop on "Data Mining" has been organized and Prof. Lakshmi Varahan from University of Oklahoma, USA was the resource person. In this academic year we have organized a 5 – day work shop on "Models and Applications of Artificial Neural Networks" and Prof. Rao Vemuri, University of California Davis, USA was the resource person. I am pleased to say that CREC is also outfitted with JKC (Jawahar Knowledge Centre) and only very few popular Institutions have this
centre in Andhra Pradesh. Recently we have also signed MOU with "Campus Classle" which is a rapidly emerging renowned social learning network. We are also continuing our association with Wipro, Infosys and IBM. We have hosted two 5–day Wipro Mission 10X faculty empowerment workshops. Infosys has utilized our College as a venue for conducting their 3 – day campus connect faculty enablement program and IBM has trained our students on their technology IBM – DB2 and conducted their certification test in this campus itself. Besides these programmes, we also conducted some other faculty development programmes including AICTE sponsored 2-day National level workshop on "Data Warehousing and Data Mining" for faculty community. Our college has recently received "Most Enthusiastic Engineering College in the Rayalaseema Region" award. According to "Souvenir India" rating our college is at 45th rank among all the Engineering Colleges in India. CREC is a right platform for the students who aspires to pursue their higher education in some premier foreign universities. CREC has signed an MOU with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) for the exchange of students, and also have understanding with Robert Gordon University, UK. Every year at least 80% of our students are placed in the MNCs like CTS, Oracle, Wipro, TCS etc. The motto of CREC is no student of our college should leave the campus without a job.

Aiming at nurturing the demand of industry for high quality technical education for Computer Science Engineers, the institute started the Four-Year
B. Tech Course in CSE in 2004, with an intake of 60 seats. Based on its track proven records of Excellence it has now grown to 120 seats.
Computer Science and Engineering Department is equipped with well qualified faculty with one Ph.D professor, four Ph.D aspirants and almost 90% of its faculty members are M.Tech graduates. The department has 420 Computer Systems with the latest Configuration. The lab operating environments include Novell Netware, Windows XP and LINUX. In addition there is exclusive lab with internet facility. All the software required as per the academic requirements are available in the department.
IEG- JKC Training Centre has been functioning since 2007 and producing its outcomes.
The department has started Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) in 2008 with a mission to promote technical excellence by conducting various competitions to students in technical as well as extra curricular activities. Apart from this the department has got good placement record for its outgoing students in various leading software companies.
