As you are aware that AICTE is the body in the nation, which controls and dictate the norms for functioning of U.G and P.G programmes in the Engineering Colleges. By next year, the plans are ahead to get accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) which is a part of AICTE.

Started initially with three undergraduate Engineering courses ? ECE, CSE and IT ? G.K.C.E today comprises five branches i.e.. ECE, CSE, IT, EEE and ME within a span of four years and going ahead with its plan for offering P.G programmes - MCA and MBA. There are about 1600 students as on today out of which 1/3rd are girl students. The lifeline of any institute is ?Faculty? itself. We have a strong, dedicated pool of qualified faculty numbering over 90 and they are committed to create a congenial student friendly environment that facilitates interaction with and among students leading to a better understanding of subject studied. Students and faculty ISTE chapers are functioning at present. GKCE is an ISTE member.

We also adopt an international Business Oriented approach through education that enables students to meet today?s emerging global educational needs and function effectively in their chosen professions.

Gokula Krishna College of Engineering, Sullurpet in 2003, was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate by JAS-ANZ of Australia and New Zealand, the first education Institute among the nearby engineering colleges and first in the district.

Gokula Krishna College of Engineering, Sullurpet is located at 4km away from sullurpeta town, 80km from district Head quarters from Nellore, Chennai (formerly Madras) is 80km away from this place and 75km away from the Balaji Temple town of Tirupathi towards west of this place. Its campus spread over 30 acres land on the bank of NH5, facilitating, easy access towards Chennai or Nellore. The Andhra state small scale industries are situated at TADA which is 12km away from Gokula Krishna College of Engineering and this provides a very good industry ? institution understanding and interaction. Further at Gummidipundi, various middle and low size industries are situated under the flagship of Tamil Nadu small scale Industries. The students of Gokula Krishna College of Engineering frequently visit Gummidipundi to get exposed in practical knowledge.

The department of ECE was established in 2001 with an intake of 60 students and enhancing of 60 students in 2004 in the UG programme. The department has highly qualified and expericienced faculty .The department has good infrastructural facilitates and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories. The department also has audio-visual facilities.The staff members are deputed to participate in workshops, conferences, symposia and refresher courses to keep in pace with recent developments in the field of Electronics & Communications Engineering.
Students of our department actively participate in National-level Student Paper Contests being organized at various Engineering Colleges. Some of them also got best paper awards from many colleges

Department of CSE was established in the year 2001  with an intake of 60 students and now it reacehed to 120. Now it got recognized as one of the leading departments with good infrastructure and facilities to match the very best in the country. The department remains committed towards its mission which is twofold. One is to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and problem solving skills in Computer Science required for a fulfilling career.
The other goal is to create and disseminate knowledge to improve Computer Science research, education and practice. The Department has always produced quality professionals, holding important positions in Information Technology industry in India and abroad.

At GKCE, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2002 with an intake of 60 students. It endeavors to make the educational system responsive to the needs of industry and the community. The department encourages the involvement of faculty in the development of laboratories and takes an interest in the student counseling.


The department of information technology was started with the aim of catering to the needs for quality IT professionals in the nations march towards digital age. The vision of the IT department is to efficiently mould engineer's knowledge with theory and practice using teaching skill utilizing the latest practical experiments and software to fit into areas of technology with advanced information.

   The information technology course provides a comprehensive view of the world of Information Technology including Internet Applications and design, besides the traditional opportunities in Computer Career. Web applications require enormous knowledge of several components like Web servers, Web Protocols and to use the Web Application tools besides OOPS concept. The information Technologist has greater opportunities in Software Development because of their excellent knowledge of Web Technology. In future the IT Industry will purely depend on information Technologists. Besides, job opportunities in the field of technology, other options are the pursuit of higher studies in areas of Networking, Distributed Systems, Web Technologies, Information Systems, Bio Informatics and Artificial Intelligence.

The department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2004. The branch was started with an intake of only 18 students, now for last the three years it has reached its maximum i.e. 60 seats. The Department has the eminent and highly experienced  faculty right from the beginning of the courseThe department has fully developed laboratories covering all the specialized areas of Mechanical Engineering. . The department has a Workshop of 21,145sq.ft.which was constructed with almost 80 lakhs of investment in the year 2003.

The department has developed its own research and development cell where the faculty and students can explore themselves.The department has been very active in organizing various programmes of general and academic interest.
